We love when abolitionists rally their community for a greater purpose. These incredible freedom fighters laced up their running shoes to actively battle injustice.
Trinity Church in Lubbock, Texas hosted their second annual Running to Rescue (R2R) 5K. Running groups were encouraged, as well as team names and t-shirts.
Runners raced through the historical Texas Tech University campus. First, second, and third place racers were awarded medals at the finish line.
R2R was a victory for everyone involved. Over 700 participants of all ages helped rescue, restore, and rebuild the lives of women in A21 shelters by simply running or walking the 5K.
With the help of 13 corporate sponsors and 6 in-kind donors, participants raised $25,000 for A21!
R2R is already planning next year’s race. We are inspired by their passion and enthusiasm to run to rescue.
