You can receive monthly email updates by entering your email address here.
You can also join our Facebook Page and follow us on Twitter.
How can I get wristbands, necklaces, and brochures?
Wristbands and necklaces can be purchased online from the A21 Webstore. Brochures and other resources can be downloaded here, and are also available by downloading and filling out this form and sending it as an email attachment to: info@theA21campaign.org.
Does A21 take casework in Australia, the USA, or other non-European nations?
At this time The A21 Campaign only takes casework in Europe. We have found an overwhelming need in Europe for anti-human trafficking initiatives, as the magnitude of the problem far outweighs the capacity of the organizations that are working to address it. Therefore, The A21 Campaign has stepped up to fill a significant gap in the global response to human trafficking by addressing this issue in Europe first.
We also support other organizations who work tirelessly to address the needs of victims of trafficking in other regions of the world, such as Asia and the USA. While much more must be done for anti-trafficking initiatives to even compare to the level of trafficking currently occurring across the globe, by working together, we are able to multiply our efforts and make a more significant impact.
What is A21's relationship with local governments and NGO's?
The A21 Campaign works closely with a wide range of partners throughout Europe, Australia, the UK, and the USA. It is only through our relationships with other NGO's and government entities that we are able to assist victims. We collaborate with our partners in instances of police investigation, legal advice, repatriation, best practice development, and providing victims with the most appropriate care. For more information, or to request a partnership between your organization and The A21 Campaign, please Contact Us.
What happens to a victim after A21 intervenes?
The A21 Campaign does everything we can to equip the survivors of human trafficking with options, knowledge, and skills to assist them in moving forward with their lives. Our transition program provides survivors with the support they need to transition from their time in our shelter, to living a fully independent, flourishing life. This includes assistance in repatriation, housing assistance, employment assistance, educational scholarships, psychological care, and assistance stabilizing and dealing with the effects of their experiences. We are committed to walking the journey with the survivors in our care until they are able to rebuild their lives from a position of strength.
What is the size of the A21 staff?
The A21 Campaign currently has four full-time and four part-time staff members in Greece and Ukraine, as well as a team of more than 45 volunteers passionately dedicated to seeing the injustice of human trafficking abolished in the 21st century!
Our team of volunteers, split across Australia, Greece, USA, UK, and the Ukraine work tirelessly to support the work of The A21 Campaign in combating human trafficking. With a broad range of skills, our volunteers have come to us from backgrounds in clinical psychology, Greek law, civil law, Chief Executive Officer leadership, video editing, graphic art, social work, and other various backgrounds that have helped increase our effectiveness. Without the tireless support of our volunteers we would not be able to achieve what we do and develop new initiatives to fight human trafficking. We might be a little biased, but we believe we have the best team on the planet! If you are interested in joining our team of volunteers, please visit the Internship Page.
In addition, The A21 Campaign is supported by many individuals, churches, companies, schools, universities, colleges, and clubs around the world who are doing what they can to combat human trafficking. This includes raising awareness in their local community, organizing fundraisers such as marathons and "battle of the bands," donating a portion of sales revenues, donating items for our crisis shelter, and starting awareness groups on school and university campuses. Please click here to Get Involved.
There are many ways to fight the injustice of human trafficking, and when we link arms and share our resources, our efforts are greatly multiplied. This is not a battle meant for one person to fight alone, and as individuals and organizations around the world come together as ONE, we are able to join forces and take a stand for justice; together we can make a difference. Our website is full of resources that will equip you to raise your hand and become that "someone" willing to do "something" to help abolish injustice in the 21st Century. Make sure you check out the 21 Ways to Help and the Abolitionist Page for more information. You can also contribute to the financial cost of rescuing and restoring survivors of trafficking via our Donations page or Facebook Cause.
An abolitionist is someone who has heard about human trafficking and decides to take action to make a difference. By creating an abolition group, raising awareness, and hosting events, an abolitionist is able to practically outwork his or her passion for justice, while tangibly making a difference in the lives of girls who have been rescued out of sex slavery. While we appreciate your desire to see the work of The A21 Campaign firsthand, we do not allow people to visit the shelter for a number of reasons. Firstly, we value the confidentiality and privacy of the survivors in our shelter. Secondly, the survivors in our shelter are often suffering from trauma related to psychological and emotional issues, and are not in a position to cope with visitors. Thirdly, due to the criminal nature of human trafficking, we do not disclose the location of our shelter. However there are many other ways to Get Involved with all that we are doing in our shelter.
Can I send a letter or card to the girls in the shelter?
Yes! We would love for you to write a letter or card to the girls in our shelter. Address your letter along the lines of "Dear Beautiful" or "Lovely," and write an encouraging note that places value and worth upon the girls. In the contents of your letter, be sure to refrain from stating your own beliefs or talking too much about your job or lifestyle, as these girls have all come from differing backgrounds and deserve to be respected and not made to feel bad about their situations. Obviously, they have been through a lot, and we ask that in your letters you do not claim to understand their situations or try to relate to what they have been through. End your letter by signing with your first name only, and do not include any personal details. These letters are for the purpose of encouragement and support. These letters can be mailed to the Greek Office.
Can I send a gift to the girls in the shelter?
Yes! You or your company are more than welcome to send gifts to the women and girls in our shelter. When donating materials to the shelter, we ask that you cover the shipping and import expenses that are associated with tangible donations, and use regular postage services. We also ask that you note the following when sending gifts:
Please send quality gifts. The A21 Campaign is committed to valuing the survivors of human trafficking in every way possible. Please note your gifts will be screened before being sent to the shelter. Please send any gifts to our Greek Office.

We also ask that you do not use the A21 logo without first obtaining permission, and that your event is clearly in support of A21, rather than to be hosted by The A21 Campaign.
How is The A21 Campaign funded?
The A21 Campaign is a non-profit, non-governmental organization. Our primary source of funding comes from the generosity of individuals, businesses, community organizations, and churches from around the world who have a passion to fight the atrocity of human trafficking.
Money donated to The A21 Campaign provides crucial funds for addressing the issue of human trafficking in Europe. We are committed to ensuring that the funds we have been entrusted with are used effectively to fight trafficking.
The A21 Project Centers require funds to cover outreaches to the most vulnerable and at-risk communities as well as hygiene and support packs to trafficked victims in Detention Centres. They also fund A21's ability to assist victims through relationships with Law Enforcement Agencies, hospitals, and other organisations, in order to assist in cases of suspected trafficking. These Project Centers also distribute awareness posters, brochures, and deliver our prevention programs that sends teams into the most at-risk areas of Eastern Europe to warn and equip young women so they do not become one of the statistics. The average cost of a prevention trip to warn 1,500 students is 1,000 USD.
Our Crisis Care Shelter provides basic essentials such as housing, clothes, toiletries, beds, food, and access to medical care, psychological care, recreational activities, language training, life guidance, legal assistance, and repatriation assistance for victims of human trafficking. The average cost of providing this kind of care for survivors is 120 USD per day, per survivor.
Our Transition Program provides survivors with housing, living expenses, and access to ongoing medical care, as well as access to counselling from social workers and psychologists. We also provide educational scholarships, vocational training, and employment assistance. The approximate cost of supporting one survivor in this way is 3,000 USD per year.
Our legal office provides legal advice, legal services, and court representation to the survivors in our care. When required, we provide witness protection services as well. The cost of court fees to take a trafficker to court in Greece is approximately 2,200 USD. This does not include the cost of witness protection, legal representation, or additional court fees if the trafficker chooses to appeal the decision.
The A21 Campaign in Australia, USA, and UK utilizes funds to raise awareness and financial support for our work. They also provide administrative and office support for our work in Greece and Ukraine. The vast majority of our team are volunteers, and so administrative costs are kept to a minimum.
Every person currently trapped in a trafficked situation should have a way out, and every trafficker should be prosecuted. While the financial cost of bringing freedom in Europe may be high, that does not mean we can forget about the women trapped in this part of the world. Their freedom is worth investing in!
With existing resources, The A21 Campaign can only assist a fraction of the people who currently need to find freedom. Our vision is to provide assistance to every single trafficking victim who needs help. It is only by your support that this goal can become a reality. Click here to make a donation today and be a part of the solution.
How much money does it cost to help one girl who has been rescued from trafficking?
